The Gelgon FTW is a water swellable polyester multi-end yarn construction. The SAP coating is custom designed by Fil-Tec and applied with our proprietary process. The result is a lofty yet firm silky yarn that fills interstices with ease and compresses optimally. These features make Gelgon the best and most effective filler yarn available. For longitudinal and helical application.

- Our water blocking yarns are the best replacement to flooding compounds and powder SAP materials used by cable makers to water block the cable
- Virtual elimination of dust. Promotes a safer work environment by eliminating fugitive particles that can cause operator health concern and premature wearing of moving parts of the equipment
- Improves operating speeds when compared to the use of flooding compounds and electrostatically applied SAP
- Cables made using our Gelgon water blocking yarn solution pass the 15 minutes and one hour water penetration tests. They additionally pass the connector and aging tests (500 cycles)
- Extremely fast reaction speed when in contact with water. 85% of gel forms in the first minute
